Hefazot-e-Islam Bangladesh Amir Allama Shafi recently made few controversial commentsabout-women   in a waj Mohofil in Hathazari Chittagong .These were taken from the video . He said------------------

1) "women are like  Tamarind/ Tetul.Looking at Tetul cause salivation similar happens !!!!"
2)" Do not send your girls to school after year 4 , that is enough to look after husband's money "
 3) "Do not  send your daughter/wife to work in Garments industries because these imcome are not halal , these are zina income."

These are highly offensive, humiliating, indecent ,immoral, unethical and unIslamic ,Fatwa  against ,humanity & women and contradicting Quran and our Prophet Muhammad SAW and only help western propaganda against Islam.Taliban want to keep women inside but Islam & Prophet Muhammad SAW never said that .If we look at Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW & his family.

What Prophet Mohammad SAW said about Education &  women--
" Acquisition of knowledge binding on all muslims ,male & female"
"Seek knowledge, from Cradle to the grave"
"Acquire knowledge even if you have to go to China"
"The person who goes forth in search of knowledge is striving hard in the way of Allah, until his/ her return"

In Islam the independent economic position of women has been established during the Prophet Mohammad SAW 's time and also obligation of the husband to make (MEHR) settlement on his wife in proportion to his means at the time of marriage.Any property that a women might acquire by her own effort or might inherit as an heir or receive as a legacy or gift, belong to her independently of her husband.

We all know Bibi Khadija(AS) was a wealthy trader inherited from her father Khuwaylid bin Asad. After marrying Prophet Mohammad (SAW) continued her business ,she spent her wealth for Islam. We also know in 616AD ,when Quraish isolated Bani Hashim (the Prophet family) family and they took refuge. It was Bibi Khadija who donated all her wealth that sustained Muslim at that time. The siege lasted for 3 years. After her death Bibi Ayshah RAW became renowned as a scholars and one of the greatest sourse of 'Hadith'

Prophet Mohammad SAW said" The best of you is he who is the best to his wife  and I am the best of you for my wife" Tirmidhi'.1400 years ago Islam gave women right to:---

1)Own and dispose property and earning without guardianship.
2)To be educated and to go out for work.
3)To choose their husband and keep their own family names.

No other religion  or country has given the same right. In Encyclopedia women status in Roman law " Once married women and her property passed into the power of her husband. The wife was the purchased property of her husband, like a slave acquired for his benefit."

According to common English law All properties which a wife held at the time of marriage became a possession of her husband.Husband was entittled to receive the profit & rent from that property.Later  married women property Act in 1870 ammended in 1882,1887 married women achieved the right to own property.

Islam has given women that right from Prophet Mohammad SAW when rest of the world  and their religion & societies considered women no better than slaves , or no rights whatsoever, Islam acknowledged women's equaility with men.

Some of our intelectual or political & Religious leaders saying Allamah Shafi's Fatwa is taking us in to  middle ages . Islam &The Holy Quran from the Prophet Mohammed SAW  is always fair and equitable.
The Quran states "And they ( women) have rights similar to those (of men) over them " (Holy Quran 2:228). Women has equal political rights as men . This include right to participate in public affairs.

The Holy Quran says Muslim must seek the right knowledge and be careful while seeking this knowledge ,to make sure we are walking in the right path  because as the Prophet said " My Community will be split up in to 73 sect" (In hadith book of Abu Dawud,Tirmidhi, Musnad Imam Ahmed & Sheikh Alalbany) and we want to be as the Prophet and his Companion used to be.
Prophet says ,You will never be misguided if you follow 'The Holy Quran' not the Fatwa.

Concerning Fatwa Scholars of FiQh says" Do not do an Igtihad (making a Fatwa) that is against the verses of The Holy Quran & Sunna. And any one that does that is contradicting with the infalliable verses & test of Allah & his massenger".

Since 9/11  --- The US women mainly Hispanic community in the USA  has wittnessed a significant rise in convertion to Islam. Most of them belongs to educated professional background. As per 96 th street Mosque in manhattan Imam Shamsi Ali this is likely after 9/11 more people reading the Holy Quran now than ever before.. Percentage rose since 9/11 to 41%.

In UK largest muslim women 's  conference in Europe took place on 23/6/2013 in London UK.delegates from all faith of British women participated in  the conference was named " Seeds of Change" . Director of "Seeds of change"  Fatima Barkatulla  stated " It was a divinely ordained solution and Justice that women needs & Islam provides. Radical Feminist group in Europe "FEMEN" who earlier  criticised & called on muslim women to take part in "Topless Jihad" are now saying " Millions of women in Europe were finding liberation in Islam".

Six non muslim Delegates reverted to Islam in that conference. Here to mentioned that British Broadcaster & Journalist Lauren Booth {Tony Blair's(former British PM) sister in law} Reverted to Islam in 2010 told delegates how Islam had enriched her life.

Although Islam has a negetive media image every year >5000 British women , >4000 German women  converting to Islam from all aspect of society. Quran & Sunnah motivating these highly educated women  in their convertion not Fatwa.some examples are below:---------

Prof Fidelmp O' Leary,(Biology prof,Saint Edward University,USA)
Dr.Catherine Luehr with husband (German Physician)
Kristine Backer (NBC Europe presenter,ex -MTV presenter)
Lauren Booth( Broadcaster& Journalist , EX-British PM'S sister in law)

A Fatwa is a Scholarly opinion of the Holy Quran & Sunnah .The Islamic Scholars are supposed to be knowledgeable and base their opinion on The holy Quran & Sunnah.. Prophet Mohammad (SAW) himself said " My community will be split up in to 73 sect" and "You will never be misguided if you follow The Holy Quran".Controversial Fatwa from so called Islamic Scholars like Allamah Safi, and around the world not only affecting Islam but also helping Western Propaganda Campaign against Islam.
