Terrorism and its worst form in Bangladesh ,Dr.Golam Sarwar

It is very unfortunate for our majority innocent peace loving civilians ,for facing a kind of terrorism in the name of political activity & religion. Politics and politicians and its activist are a kind sick society now in Bangladesh .Politicians lost vision of good policies and programe for present & future of the country  .Their vision is like one way traffic either to go in power or to remain in power. All  major parties are trying to score political points. While two major parties involved in bickering politics a third party in the name of religion , clearly taking advantage  of it.

I just want to mention here only few recent incidence that we all have seen in video footage,  a pattern of terrorism that reflects our morales ,conscience ,and  what is our society's morals as a whole.

One is recently on 11th April 2013 in Fotikchori,Chittagong after announcing from mosque that " Awamileague procession coming to attack mosque & will take out its imam." Jamaat  & ?Hefajot E Islami  mob from everywhere attacked them  " two person were  cut into pieces before being killed in a School room apparently by 2 person continuously slicing by Machetes while hundreds other with sticks ,machetes  witnessing the incidence some wearing islamic dress and cheering,on the same day another two were bitten to death by apparently by 5 or 6 person while hundreds other encircling and cheering with ,stick, knife in hand ,some wearing islamic dress."

Last year Bishawjit an innocent bystander was  murderd by few chatroleague criminals, one had Chapati, rest had rods, sticks. we all condemmed that.
Analysis from video footage:
 Bishwajit was murdered by well known chatraleague criminals and possibly killed under the influence of drugs, but above are islamic fanatics ,Jamaat & its associates .They murdered in cool brain.
During Bishawjit murder 8-12 criminals were invoved with few had rods , sticks ,one( Shakil ) had Chapati .Footage showed someothers were stopping Shakil(Chapati man) from chapati attack  , but here in Fotikchori rest of the people were happy &  cheering.Bishawjit was able to run away from the spot fell further away and  was taken to hospital and died there, but here they kept beating the dead body. We know Shakil's father  was ashamed of son's act and died of heart attack 2 days later, but here no one are ashamed .

In another incidence on 29th March 2013 after the verdict of Delwar H Saidi .After  announcing  from the mosque that ' Saidi's face is in the moon' and mobilising  thousands of mob attacking police station with 8 police on duty , killing 4 policeman by beating & stabbing to death in Shirajgonj,Bogra.Also in another incidence 4th April 2013 "a policeman's head was smashed by bricks while he was  ? unconscious on the ground". These are all we have seen in video footage.

I am not going to discuss about any politics here but more about 'Conscience,Moral values,real Religious values, judgements ' of our individuals ,our society as a whole.It is the question to all of us wheater we have earned any moral values ,conscience over last 42 years or lost ,if so at what extent .Time has come to think about what moral lesson ,teachings are being provided especially in our Madrashas .We  are all donating lots of money every year to these Madrasha to help orphaned children to acquire real Islamic values,morales and spread to the community not to slaughter people alive.

We have heard what happened in 1971, we have seen the deadbody,people were taken from home,shot dead or stabbed to death. But now  we are seeing video clips ,how Jamaat and its associates are committing  murder now .There are different forms of terrorism.Terrorist planting bomb killing people from distance or in a suicidal mission ,these happens quickly and a different aspect of moral dimension .But what examples I have given above has another dimension of morals as completion of these murder takes time in front of their eyes.

We know Olama Mashaek Parishad  is a platform of Islamic Scholars and clerics .Maulana Fariduddin Masud  is  the chief of the parishad also the chief imam of Sholakia mosque.He has written hundreds of Islamic books ,has thousands of students & followers  .On 23rd March 2013 Maulana  Masud said " Jamaat is an enemy of Islam.It is importing religious extremism in the country in the name of Islam. That's why we demand a ban on Jamaat." Is it going to solve the problems or improve our morals.Jamaat is going to come in different forms .We have already seen another group 'Hefazot-e-Islam"coming in the name of Islam trying to establish Sharia law ,?Taleban style ,restricting our female population inside house ,taking us back to the dark ages.We all know our female population approx( 50%) of total, working side by side with  male population moving economy forward & contributing all aspects of our society  equaly.

Recently in a talk show in EkattorTV ,they invited Maulana Farid Uddin Masud of Sholakia Imam, Mufti Shakhawat Hossain of Hefazot-e-Islam ,and others. In that live show Mufti Shakhawat  said" "Maulana Farid Uddin Masud is the 2nd Toslima Nasrin"  the talk show was very bitter and Maulana Farid U Masud said to Tv Host" you have invited me in this show for islamic discussion ,I donot deserve to be insulted ,I have produced lots of Mufti like him ,I donot know who was his teacher .".Here it important to mention that Maulana Farid Uddin Masud has written more than  100 Islamic books and ,preaching Islam all his life and has lots of Students.There is no doubt that Hefazot leadership is offending Maulana Masud because of his stands against extremism and and Jamaat.We have seen recently Hefazot-e- islami staged a street protest when Amar Desh Editor Mahmudur Rahman was arrested. I think we all know what is their motives. Press freedom is fundamental to the process of democracy but false , misleading publication and inciting violence is against publication ethics and our constitution.


I have written in my previous articles that 'we should create   better job ,education ,economic  opportunity for the remote  communities to prevent any future disturbances.? But I may be wrong.I am saying this because I have heard in a talk show ' When Barrister Tania Amir said recently that , " ' we have to upgrade ,improve ,create opportunity in our Madrasha education so that they get jobs ,quickly one of Madrasah mufti,Hefazot E-Islami spokesperson Mufti Shakhawat Hossain  said that" we have enough job ,we are learning to  establish ensure politician ,run the country in Islamic Sharia way. we do not need to do or compete   for any other job in the society."

 This is the  resposibility of all side of politics to formulate plan how to form and maintain a healthy society. All side of politics should watch not to let the orphan  to get brain washed in the Madrasha and threaten our existance .Our politician should not only keep scooring political points by supporting them directly or indirectly .They all should think before it gets out of control.Jammat in Bangladesh is a terrorist organisation no doubt about that ,banning Jamaat may cause its supporter/leadership forms new party but politicians should outlaw any parties that incide and perform violence in any forms.
